Comparison · Visual A/B testing
Duelpilot vs Optimizely
Enterprise experimentation (Web and Feature Experimentation) with an AI agent layer, Opal / Agent Platform, and a hosted MCP server, for mature digital and product teams. Duelpilot is A/B testing run by your own AI agent over MCP, with a person approving every launch. Both can be used by an AI agent over MCP. Optimizely doesn't publish its prices; Duelpilot is a flat, published price per site, with your first test free on every plan.

Pricing
Duelpilot
Pricing: flat per site
Starter €9/month (€7 billed yearly); Pro €49/month (€39 billed yearly); Team €149/month (€119 billed yearly, 5 sites); Code €199/month (€159 billed yearly, 5 sites); Enterprise on request. No free plan; the first test is free on every plan.
Prices as published by each vendor on the date checked, excluding VAT. Duelpilot has no visitor meters and no AI credits: the AI runs in your own agent's subscription.
What Optimizely does well
- Web and feature experimentation, personalization and a wider digital-experience suite from one enterprise vendor (optimizely.com).
- Stats Engine: sequential testing with false-discovery-rate control (docs.optimizely.com).
- Hosted remote MCP server (since 29 April 2026) for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, with Opti ID OAuth (docs.optimizely.com).
- Broad server-side SDK coverage (docs.optimizely.com).
What Duelpilot does well
- Your own agent does the research, design, checks and monitoring over MCP (48 tools); no AI bill from Duelpilot.
- A person approves every launch: no MCP tool can approve, launch, pick a winner or ship.
- Always-valid sequential statistics (mSPRT) with Holm correction, sample-ratio-mismatch checks and guardrail metrics.
- Every variant gets a preview link and a site check on phone, tablet and desktop before anyone can approve it.
- Flat price per site, published, from €9/month, and your first test is free on every plan; no visitor meters.
Where Duelpilot falls short
- You need an AI agent that speaks MCP; without one there is no visual editor to build variants by hand.
- No heatmaps or session recordings: Duelpilot counts results and sends variants to your own analytics.
- A young product (2026): fewer integrations and a shorter track record than established tools.
Which one should you choose?
Choose Optimizely if…
Choose Optimizely if you are an enterprise with a dedicated experimentation team that needs web and feature experimentation, personalization, governance and a broad digital-experience suite from one vendor.
Choose Duelpilot if…
Choose Duelpilot if you will not sign an enterprise contract: published flat prices from €9/month with the first test free, AI that runs in your own agent with no credits, and your agent designing the variant code itself (Optimizely's MCP does not edit Web variation code).
Try Duelpilot with your own agent
Give your agent one line: set up Duelpilot for my site using /agents.md. It opens a workspace, installs and verifies the script, and drafts the first test; you approve what goes live. Try your first test free or see pricing.
Questions
Can my own agent drive Optimizely?
Partly. Since April 2026 Optimizely has a hosted MCP server that Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can use to query results and create flags, experiments and audiences; it needs Agent Platform enabled and does not edit Web variation code (checked 17 Oct 2026).
Does Optimizely charge for AI?
Yes. Agent Platform (Opal) features use credits, with 200 free credits per month per instance until the end of 2026. Duelpilot charges nothing for AI because it runs in your own agent.
Are both statistics engines sequential?
Yes. Optimizely's Stats Engine is sequential with FDR control; Duelpilot uses mSPRT with Holm correction, SRM checks and guardrails.
What does Optimizely cost?
Optimizely does not publish prices; every plan is individually packaged. Duelpilot is €9, €49, €149 or €199 (Code) per month flat per site; Enterprise is on request.
