Duelpilot vs PostHog Experiments

Experiments built on feature flags inside PostHog's open-source product-analytics suite, for product engineers and startups. Duelpilot is A/B testing run by your own AI agent over MCP, with a person approving every launch. Both can be used by an AI agent over MCP. The biggest difference is who launches: in PostHog Experiments an agent can start tests itself, in Duelpilot a person approves (or an owner's autopilot policy, within guardrails). PostHog Experiments is priced by usage; Duelpilot is flat per site, without AI credits.

What PostHog Experiments does well

  • Product analytics, session replay, feature flags and experiments in one platform (posthog.com).
  • Large free monthly allowance (posthog.com/pricing).
  • Bayesian or frequentist engine, optional sequential testing and CUPED (posthog.com/docs/experiments/statistics).
  • MCP covering the full experiment lifecycle (posthog.com/docs/model-context-protocol/tools).

What Duelpilot does well

  • Your own agent does the research, design, checks and monitoring over MCP (48 tools); no AI bill from Duelpilot.
  • A person approves every launch: no MCP tool can approve, launch, pick a winner or ship.
  • Always-valid sequential statistics (mSPRT) with Holm correction, sample-ratio-mismatch checks and guardrail metrics.
  • Every variant gets a preview link and a site check on phone, tablet and desktop before anyone can approve it.
  • Flat price per site, published, from €9/month, and your first test is free on every plan; no visitor meters.

Where Duelpilot falls short

  • You need an AI agent that speaks MCP; without one there is no visual editor to build variants by hand.
  • No heatmaps or session recordings: Duelpilot counts results and sends variants to your own analytics.
  • A young product (2026): fewer integrations and a shorter track record than established tools.

Which one should you choose?

Choose PostHog Experiments if…

Choose PostHog if you want product analytics, session replay, feature flags and experiments in one developer-friendly platform, and you are comfortable letting agents launch and ship experiments from code.

PostHog Experiments website

Choose Duelpilot if…

Choose Duelpilot if you want visual tests on any frontend (with a hydration-safe mode for React, Vue, Astro and Svelte), real-browser site checks before launch and a hard rule that agents never launch or ship; Duelpilot sends variant events into PostHog, so the two work together.

How Duelpilot works

Try Duelpilot with your own agent

Give your agent one line: set up Duelpilot for my site using /agents.md. It opens a workspace, installs and verifies the script, and drafts the first test; you approve what goes live. Try your first test free or see pricing.

Questions

Can an agent ship a PostHog experiment?

Yes. PostHog's MCP has experiment-launch, -pause, -end and -ship-variant tools; approval is left to your MCP client. Duelpilot has no such tools: agents propose, people approve.

Can I use PostHog and Duelpilot together?

Yes. Duelpilot sends exposure and conversion events to PostHog, so you can analyse Duelpilot tests next to your PostHog data.

Do both use sequential statistics?

PostHog offers sequential testing as an option; Duelpilot always uses an always-valid sequential test (mSPRT) with Holm correction and SRM checks.

Is PostHog better for product teams?

If your experiments live in code and you want analytics, replay and flags in one tool, yes. Duelpilot is focused on website tests run by your own agent.
